Women in Careers Conference March 12th

CSULB will be hosting the Women in Careers Conference on Friday, March 12th from 9am to 12pm in the University Ballrooms. You will hear amazing, inspiring, talented, successful women talking about their career paths, their challenges, their choices, and the people and events that made a difference in their lives. A Million Meals for Haiti [March 12th and 13th]
The Salvation Army is packing a million meals for Haiti in a 24-hour period from Friday, March 12 through Saturday, March 13. This will take place at The Salvation Army's Bell Shelter, located in the city of Bell. This event has been registered with Disneyland - each 4-hour shift will give a 1/2-day pass to one of their parks (2 shifts will get you a day pass to Disneyland).

Senate Questionnaire

The college of Engineering Senators have a questionnaire that they use to better represent the college at the weekly ASI senate meetings. To express your opinion on bills and resolutions that will be voted on in the senate, fill out their questionnaire and they will use the responses to determine how to vote. It's a great way for your voice to be heard in student government.

Women Engineers at the Beach Day March 19th
Our tenth anniversary of Women Engineers at the Beach Day will be March 19th, 2010 from 8am to 3pm. This year 300 forth through twelfth grade girls will come to campus to get excited about engineering. Thank you in advance to all of you who have volunteered. You will receive an email with more information specified to you closer to the event date.

COE Student Faculty Mixer, March 17th

The student faculty mixer date has been set for Wednesday, March 17, 2010 from 11:30am to 1:30pm. Stay tuned for more details, but save the date! The SWE Orange County section is offering scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students. Only female, engineering student from CSULB, CSUF, UCR, or UCI are eligible. $1000, $750 and $500 will be given to three undergraduate students and three and graduate students. The application must be mailed in by March 31st

The College of Engineering is also offering many scholarships for the Fall 2010 school year. Make sure to go to to apply.
"After College" Scholarship

"AfterCollege" awards one (1) $500 scholarship every quarter to a student who is seeking a bachelors, masters or doctorate in the field of Engineering or Computer Science.

The next deadline is Wednesday, March 31.

Pi Tau Sigma - International Mechanical Engineering Honor Society
Pi Tau Sigma is seeking members to re-establish the organization. The minimum requirements are Mechanical Engineering major, 3.0 GPA, and junior standing. See attached flyer if you are interested in joining.

EIT Review Sessions

Chi Epsilon (XE), the honor society for Civil Engineers, is hosting review sessions for the Engineers in Training (EIT) exam. Please see attachment for schedule and contact information.

Counseling is offered by the counselor for the College of Engineering in order to help students succeed throughout the semester. Appointments for a session to be held in the side room of the SWE office can be made. The sessions can be used to talk out a problem or just to relieve anxiety. To set up an appointment, email with your name, email address, and three possible days and three possible times for a session. Appointments must be made a week in advance.
Committee Meetings 
Involvement committee meetings will held in ENG2-102 on Thursdays at 2:00pm and Outreach committee meetings will be held Wednesdays at 12:30. The involvement committee will help plan events such as the SWE Homecoming Network Dinner and the outreach committee will help plan events such as Women Engineers at the Beach Day.
