Second General Meeting

SWE will be holding its next meeting on Tuesday, September 21 in EN2 103 at 4:45. We will be having speakers form the Carrier Development Center  who will be conducting a resume building workshop. This is the perfect opportunity for our members to obtain insight on how to write that outstanding resume. So don’t forget to bring your resume on Tuesday!

SWE OC Training September 25th

The Orange County SWE Section will be holding its annual Leadership Summit on Saturday, September 25th at UC Irvine. This is a great opportunity to get involved and learned about our Long Beach SWE section and the county section, and meet SWE members from other universities. If you would like to attend, please RSPV We will we setting up a carpool.

Involvement Committee

If you would like to be apart of the organization of SWE events like our upcoming bonfire, Halloween party, and Alumni Homecoming Banquet, you should participate with our Involvement committee. To be informed about involvement committee meetings fill out the Involvement Committee Form

Networking Lunch – Bluewater Grill in Tustin

Join SWE OC for  the first networking lunch of the year. Come meet fellow engineers from other schools including Cal State Fullerton, UC Irvine, and UC RIverside and enjoy a great lunch!

e-LIFE Mentors Needed:

California's Water Challenge

Dean Forouzan Golshani and the Dean's Engineering Advisory Council invite you to attend The Engineering Distinguished Lecture Series: California's Water Challenge. MAES- Science Extravaganza

The Society of Mexican American Engineers and Scientists will be hosting their second bi-yearly Science Extravaganza. This event will take place Thursday, September 30th, 2010  in the USU and will bring over 200 middle and elementary school children on campus. The students will be given a series of workshops, whose aim is to spark an interest in the STEM fields. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact 

IEEE- Energy Forum 2010: A Systems Approach Toward Green Energy Production and Adaptive Power Distribution

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Systems Council Chapter of the Coastal Los Angeles Section, would like to invite you to attend the first annual Energy Workshop: "A System Approach Toward Green Energy Production and Adaptive Power DistributionThe event will take place on November 1st, 2010 and will take place on campus at The Pointe. $2,000 for a 1st or 2nd year Undergraduate

(Certificate Program) Requirements:
Women currently enrolled in Undergraduate, Graduate Degree, or Certificate Program in a Transportation Related Field, such as Transportation Engineering, Planning, Finance, or Logistics. Student must be enrolled in a school in Los Angeles County or have residency in Los Angeles County GPA 3.0 or higher for undergraduates and GPA 3.5 or higher for graduate students A list of the scholarships available and linked applications are provided below.

Free practice tests


On Saturday, September 25th at 10 AM, Kaplan is holding a FREE opportunity for students to take a practice GRE, LSAT, MCAT, DAT, OAT, or PCAT.  The event will be held at CSULB, in the Health & Human Services Building (HHS1).  It is open to anyone who would like to take a practice test, even if you are not a current TAMU student.
Each test will last up to 3 hours and will be proctored like an
actual exam. After the test, one of our amazing instructors will give a short
workshop on test-taking strategies and answer questions.
