Announcements:  
Next Meeting Monday Feb. 8th
Meetings will be held on Mondays at 12 in VEC 110. Our next meeting will be next Monday, February 8th. For each meeting you attend you will have a raffle ticket with your name placed in the bucket. At the end of the year a name will be pulled to receive a prize.  
 
WE@BD 2010 on March 19th
Our tenth aniversary of Women Engineers at the Beach Day will be March 19th, 2010 from 8am to 3pm. This year 300 4th through 12th grade girls will come to campus to get excited about engineering. We need many volunteers to help with set up, clean up and to help the girls with the fun, hands-on activities. Please fill out the volunteer form by February 26th in order to volunteer.

5th Annual Regional Human Factors Conference at CSULB
The Human Factors and Ergonomics Society Student chapter at CSULB in having their fifth anual Human Factors Conference Saturday, February 27, 2010, from 9:00am-3:00pm, in the Psychology Building. Anyone interested is invited. Registration is free and includes a free lunch. The conference will feature three guest speakers, poster session, recruitment tables, and career/internship panel. For more information and to register, go to http://hfes.hamzahraza.com/conference-information/registration/.

Scholarships
The SWE Orange County section is offering scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students. Only female, engineering student from CSULB, CSUF, UCR, or UCI are eligible. $1000, $750 and $500 will be given to three undergraduate students and three and graduate students. The application must be mailed in by March 31st.

The College of Engineering is also offering many scholarships for the Fall 2010 school year. Make sure to go to http://www.csulb.edu/colleges/coe/views/scholarships/ to apply.

Science and Technology Career Fair, February 18th 
CSULB's anual science and technology career fair will be Thursday February 18th from 12pm to 4pm in the student union.

NSBE Resume Workshop
At their next meeting, on Friday, February 12th at 4pm, NSBE will hosting a resume workshop by Xerox. This is great way to prepare for the upcoming job fair.

Shadow-an-Engineer Day at Raytheon
Raytheon will be holding its annual Shadow an Engineer Day on Friday, February 19th. Students will be paired with an engineer working in their area of study and spend the morning seeing first-hand what a typical day as an engineer is like.  Students will have an opportunity to talk with more engineers at lunch and will hear a prominent, engineering leader speak. If you would like to attend, fill out the Shadow an Engineer Day form and email your resume to resume@csulbswe.org with the subject line "Raytheon" by Thursday, February 11th at 9pm. Counseling
Counseling is offered by the counselor for the College of Engineering in order to help students succeed throughout the semester. Appointments for a session to be held in the side room of the SWE office can be made. The sessions can be used to talk out a problem or just to relieve anxiety. To set up an appointment, email tngo2@csulb.edu with your name, email address, and three possible days and three possible times for a session. Appointments must be made a week in advance.
 
Committee Meetings
Involvement committee meetings will held in ENG2-102 on Fridays at 12:00pm and Outreach committee meetings will be held Wednesdays at 12:30. The involvement committee will help plan events such as the SWE Homecoming Banquet and the outreach committee will help plan events such as Women Engineers at the Beach Day.
