Announcements

 SWE Mini-Election

National members, don’t forget to vote for SWE’s next Fundraising Chair and AESB Representative! The poll closes on Thursday, February 11 at 5pm.

    STARBASE 2.0 Mentoring Program

STARBASE is a Department of Defense youth program in need of engineering students to share their passion with underprivileged youth. Take this chance to work with young students on designing and building their own rocket that will be entered into the Team America Rocketry Challenge. Only minimal commitment required (a few hours every other Wednesday) and it’s a great opportunity to pump up your resume while giving back to the community! For more info/details, contact Hannah at historian@csulbswe.org or if you’d like to sign-up to be a mentor, email Tanya Tello at tanyatello.edu@gmail.com.

 SWE Gear: T-shirts

Check out our new SWE gear! Help support SWE by getting our newly designed shirts for only $10 when you pre-order before Friday, February 12. Come stop by our office (EN2 102) to fill out the form.

 Rube Goldberg Project

We are gearing up to start this project real soon! Utilize the concepts you’ve learned in class and think outside the box; this year’s contest challenges students to build a machine using everyday items in order to… open an umbrella! If you haven’t already, make sure to contact our Project Manager La La Luu at project.manager@csulbswe.org to be added on the list!

 SWE-et Committee

Missed the first meeting? No worries! There will be another committee meeting this Friday, February 12th from 12-1pm in EN2 102. Get involved with SWE! Join the SWE-et committee to learn more about how SWE works and shadow your favorite officer position. This week’s meeting will cover preparations for the Mr. and Ms. Engineering Pageant. Contact membership@csulbswe.org or involvement@csulbswe.org for any questions.
