Industry Chair

Meet our Industry Chair, Kareena Chan!

Why did you pick your major?

"I am a computer science major due to my interests and by chance. Growing up I did not know what I wanted to be, but I knew I loved using technology, doing math, and being creative. When filling out college applications, I applied to half of the schools in computer science (CS), the other in marketing. By chance, I was accepted into CSULB for CS. By choice, I decided to attend CSULB. Four years later, I can confidently say that choosing CSULB and CS were the best decisions I have ever made. I get to be logical and creative every day to create solutions for problems of different magnitudes. "

What is your favorite course?

"My favorite class so far is User Interface Design, in which we build a simple system then focus on enhancing the user experience (UX) with iterative designs and UX research. "

What are you going to do after you graduate?

"After graduating in May 2020, I will be a Software Engineer at Accenture hoping to continue innovating with users in mind."
