Meet our Publicity Chair, Ayah Tamimi!
Why did you pick your major?
"When I was in high school, I attended a robotics summer camp and had my first experience with coding and electronics. I always knew that I wanted to go into a STEM field because I like math and problem solving, but this experience narrowed down my choice to electrical engineering."
What is your favorite course?
Why are you in SWE?
"I joined SWE because I wanted to be part of a supportive community where I am surrounded with people who can relate to the experiences that I encounter in a male dominated field. At SWE, I am expanding my skill set and network outside of the classroom setting and building meaningful relationships with amazing and brilliant women."
Advice for women in STEM:
"You may not get things right the first time and you may even fail, but that is okay! What matters most is what you do after that experience. Embrace these challenges and use them as opportunities to learn and grow. In turn, you will become a stronger and more resilient person."
