Treasurer

Meet our Treasurer, Grace Hutchinson!

Why did you pick your major?

"I picked my major because I love math and science! In high school I struggled with STEM courses, but the challenges only pushed me to be better. Originally I applied to CSULB as a Biomedical Engineering major because I was more interested in life sciences. After my first semester I switched to Electrical Engineering because I wanted to get more involved with the hardware side of engineering, and I could still apply for BME jobs in the future! "

What is your favorite course?

"My favorite class is EE 370, Control Systems! Control systems reminded me how much I enjoy the "problem solving" aspect of engineering, and it was after that class I decided I wanted my emphasis to be controls engineering! "

What are you doing after you graduate?

"After I graduate I definitely want to work for a few years and take a break from studying. My end goal is to eventually get a Masters in Biomedical Engineering, as that was my original passion! "

Advice for women in STEM:

"My advice is to be confident in your ideas! Don't be afraid to share what you’re thinking in class, labs, internships, and work. Don’t let a few mistakes keep you from speaking up! "
